Visio kinesiology: your session from a distance, wherever you are

No time to travel? Too far from a practice? Or simply more comfortable at home? Visit video kinesiology allows you to benefit from personalised support from the comfort of your sofa.

My name is Johanna, I am qualified kinesiologist with ASCA accreditation, and I offer distance kinesiology sessions in addition to my office consultations in Gland (Vaud). Whether you live in French-speaking Switzerland, elsewhere in Switzerland or even abroad, videoconferencing removes geographical barriers so that you can progress at your own pace.

Visio kinesiology session: a practical guide

How does distance kinesiology work?

You're probably wondering how a kinesiologist can work without touching you. It's a legitimate question! Face-to-face kinesiology is based on muscle testing: the practitioner assesses the tone of your muscles to detect blockages and imbalances.

With videoconferencing, the approach can be adapted. There are several techniques for maintaining this connection at a distance:

  • Energy transfer : The kinesiologist uses his or her own body as a relay to carry out muscle tests by connecting to your energy system. This technique has been used for years, particularly for sessions with babies or people with reduced mobility.
  • Guided exercises : As the session progresses, I show you movements and corrections that you can do yourself (neuro-lymphatic points, EFT, Brain Gym, eye movements, etc.). You become the actor of your own rebalancing.
  • In-depth verbal exchange : videoconferencing offers a framework in which listening and dialogue are even more central than in the office. Your words, your reactions, your feelings become precious indicators.

ℹ️ Visio kinesiology does not necessarily replace a face-to-face session - the two formats are complementary. Some issues lend themselves particularly well to remote work, while others benefit more from face-to-face contact. We'll discuss them together.

What tools and platforms are needed for online consultation?

You don't have to be a whiz with technology to follow a kinesiology session by video. Here's what you need:

  • A camera : computer, tablet or smartphone. The important thing is that I can see you and you can see me.
  • A stable internet connection : in the vast majority of cases, Wi-Fi at home will suffice.
  • A video platform: I usually work with Zoom or WhatsApp video, whichever you prefer. No complicated software to install.
  • A quiet space: ideally somewhere where you won't be disturbed for an hour or so, and where you can sit or lie down comfortably.

That's all there is to it! You book online via Calendly, and receive a connection link before the appointment. It's quick and easy.

How a video kinesiology session works

The procedure for a distance session follows the same logic as in an office. Here's what to expect:

1. Welcome and discussion - We'll take a few minutes to take stock of how you're feeling at the moment, what your needs are and what your goals are. If this is your first session, we'll lay the foundations for your support together.

2. Testing and listening to the body - Through energy transfer and verbal exchange, I identify your body's priorities. Your feelings and reactions guide the session in real time.

3. Corrections and guided exercises - I'll guide you through the appropriate corrections: acupressure points, Brain Gym movements, EFT, breathing techniques, emotional release, etc. You carry out the movements yourself under my supervision.

4. Debriefing and recommendations - We'll take stock of what's happened and what you've realised, and I'll give you exercises or recommendations to do between sessions to prolong the effects.

Duration: as in an office, it takes about 1.5 hours for the first session and 1 hour for subsequent sessions.

Tips to maximise the effectiveness of your remote session

Visio kinesiology works all the better if you prepare for it as little as possible. Here are my recommendations:

  • Choose a quiet, comfortable spot. A sofa, a bed, a yoga mat... the idea is for you to be able to relax fully. Avoid noisy or busy places.
  • Plan to be quiet. Tell the people around you, put your phone on mute (unless it's your video device!), and give yourself a moment to yourself.
  • Keep a glass of water close at hand. Kinesiology sessions require a lot of energy. Keeping well hydrated before, during and after helps the body to integrate the changes.
  • Be open to experience. Although the format can be surprising at first, many people find that they feel more relaxed at home. The familiar surroundings encourage them to let go.
  • Take some time after the session. Avoid immediately returning to everyday life. Give yourself 15 or 20 minutes to digest the session, take a walk or simply breathe.

What my customers say!

Frequently asked questions about video kinesiology

The two formats complement each other. Many people report equivalent results, or even deeper relaxation. Some issues (emotional work, stress management, Bach Flower Remedies) lend themselves particularly well to videoconferencing. For others, a face-to-face session may be preferable. We'll discuss this together during the first session.

The kinesiologist uses a technique called «transference»: he uses his own body as a relay to carry out muscle tests. This method has been used for a long time, particularly to support babies or people who cannot be tested directly.

A camera (computer, tablet or smartphone), a decent internet connection and a quiet place where you can sit comfortably for an hour or so. We use Zoom or WhatsApp video, whichever you prefer.

Yes, under the same conditions as an in-office session. As my distance consultations are ASCA-recognised, they are billed in the same way and may be covered by your supplementary insurance. Check with your insurance company for the exact conditions of reimbursement.

Many clients feel a change from the very first session: a new lightness, a deeper sleep, an emotion unravelled. For older or deeper problems, the effects generally unfold over two to four sessions. There's no set timetable: each session is different.

Exactly. The first video session takes place in the same way as in the office: we take the time to get to know each other, set your objectives and find the right method. If you prefer to start in person for an initial contact, that's also possible.

Of course you can! Many people combine the two formats depending on their schedule or their needs at the time. The continuity of the support is guaranteed whatever the chosen method.

None. The fees are strictly identical: CHF 140 for the first session (approximately 90 minutes) and CHF 120 for subsequent sessions (approximately 60 minutes). The quality of the support does not change with the format.

Why don't you stop waiting for it to pass?

You know something's wrong. You feel it in your body, in your nights, in that tiredness that rest can't fix. Kinesiology doesn't promise miracles, but it opens a door that you may not have pushed open yet. Sometimes a single session is enough to get things moving again.
